      ABOUT ABBY

I have always been active and always tried to find some way to stay busy.  I was a competitive cheerleader all throughout high school and my first 2 years in college. After I quit cheering, I stopped exercising as much and fell into a deep hole of confusion. I had centered my whole life on cheering that I didn't know any other life outside of it. I gained weight and lost sight of who I was. I then found exercise again but didn't use it to help me emotionally and mentally. I used to be so obsessed with exercising and dieting that I had created the most unhealthy lifestyle imaginable. I put any and every restriction I could on my life. I didn't allow myself to indulge in my favorite treats, I didn't miss a day of exercise because I had this huge phobia of gaining weight or losing muscle. I then stopped lifting heavy because I was scared it was making me "bulky" or "big". I have been every shape and size. It took me 4 years to finally realize that this was not a healthy lifestyle. I finally realized it after my son was born.

I remember being 2 weeks postpartum and thinking, "I want to be so healthy for my son so we can do everything together." I also remember thinking, "when can I start exercising again?". These two mindsets are so different. I think as people, we tend to be extremely hard on ourselves especially when we're feeling super low, it's easy to be hard on ourselves. I struggled with both mindsets, those mindsets being: healthy vs. unhealthy. I was trying to keep a healthy mindset by thinking "I want to be healthy for my son.", and being unhealthy by saying, "when can I exercise again?", not realizing that time I had with my son was so precious and he needed me more than ever during this time. My body had just gone through something so great and hard that it took 10 months to prepare for it.  Why would I want to rush a lifestyle change? It's called a lifestyle change for a reason because it doesn't just take moment to create healthy habits, it takes a lifetime to create and maintain healthy habits. Everybody has gone through something that has impacted their lives in some way. No matter what caused you pain, depression, confusion, and to be completely lost, you are not alone. You can find yourself again and you can also create a better version of yourself. I know this because I have done this and I'm still doing this! A lifestyle change is an everyday decision that you have to make for yourself! After my son was born, I had such a drive and motivation to do better, be better, and feel better - not just for me, but for my family.

My brand "Lifestyle Fitness", is more than just a brand, it's an opportunity to show how strong you really are. It takes massive bravery and courage to make a change. It takes the same amount of bravery and courage to decide you want to make that change. Making a change is not easy and is super uncomfortable, but it's right then in that uncomfortable stage when you start growing. Nutrition and fitness are my specialties. Not only do I want to help you create healthy habits, but I want to help you maintain them and become self-disciplined and motivated! I want to help you find your "why" like I did and your reason for starting this journey. I don't want this to be a part-time thing, I want this to be a lifetime thing. Create the lifestyle that you've always wanted!
